It's a nice idea but first we have to think if we should make it 2d(lots of work making addons, unless we steal from the old spitesheets) or text based. For text based we can use any MUD engine, this way it can even be multiplayer. I have no idea how it would work for more players than there are waifus to choose though

RPG can work well if you make it where you need the Maidens to make it past the many obstacles, where 1 or 2 of them can pass it with no ill effect, another 1-2 can perhaps bypass it with an effect and the rest is uncrossable, unless with special items.
You've arrived at the Castle Walls.
You're given 5 options:
1. Ask Suiseiseki to use her watering can on the plant near the wall.
2. Have Hinaichigo use her strawberry vines to make a ladder.
3. Have Kanaria attempt to bring the walls down. (You might go deaf.)
4. Ask Suigintou to try to fly you across the walls. (You might leave the rest of the party behind or she may drop you.)
5. Ask Shinku to use her rose petals to lift you across the walls. (You might get slapped and you will get dizzy.)

There are many tools and frameworks for Godot(fun fact: they come as Godot games!) that allow you to make RPGs or VNs very easily. Of course this being a legitimate engine also gives some flexibility to change those templates.

Tower defense is a great idea for a small game to sharpen some game making skills. I will look into it.
Even a simple RPG requires a lot of effort both in coding and in making of assets, but we can use something similar to RPG maker(but a bit more modern) to not code everything from the ground up.
